EARN was also active in other domains to facilitate the network usage. As an example, EARN produced the first Guide to Network Resource Tools in 1993, GNRT 1993which later (1994) was cited in an article of the Washington Post by Margot Williams as“one of the 10 fun things to do” (download) once on the Internet, and became in its second edition an RFC document: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1580

Among the various network tools LISTSERV in particular deserved its own user guide.


EARN also produced a bi-monthly newsletter: EARNEST, that was available for download from the EARN server and was also published in a printed version for some time. You can find and download the all the available EARNEST issues  in the  Activities section.
